Japanese developer Arika has announced a new collaboration with The Tetris Company to produce an entirely new licensed Tetris game.

While details are scant, the new game is based on the concept of “Tetris that makes good at Tetris.” Release platforms weren’t confirmed but the game is set to launch sometime in fiscal year 2024, which ends in early 2025.

Arika is known for their fighting games but in years past made the Tetris: The Grand Master series, a new spinoff that awards players with rankings as the classic gameplay gets faster with progress. It’s highly likely this new game is a new Tetris: The Grand Master release.
