If you remember earlier, we reported on the Areal kickstarter as well as the controversy, but now another chapter in this soap-opera-esque saga has been written, and it took place in a recently conducted Reddit “Ask Me Anything” thread which you can view here.
Sadly, not much was even said and the questions that dealt with the validity of the project or the stolen assets were completely avoided. Perhaps more unsettling was that the questions they did answer were mostly posted by one-day old accounts that strangely adressed them formally, such as “Mr. Sytyanov” and such, further adding fuel to the “This is all a scam” fire.
You can draw your own conclusions by viewing the AMA, but many in the community have already voiced their concerns. The Kickstarter for Areal is currently stuck at just over 35,000 and has been for over a week.
Bottom line? This isn’t looking good for anyone at this point, fans or Areal developers.
