AR Racing Game Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit Announced, Launches October 16

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit

Nintendo and Velan Studios have announced Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit during the surprise Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary Direct.

As stated in the press release, players bring the Mario Kart franchise into the real world, using a physical toy kart you can drive around your home. As you drive the kart around, AR elements (augmented reality) such as enemies and items appear on screen, backed by the real world via the kart’s camera.

The kart responds to boosts or getting hit with an item, all while racing around custom courses in their home. Race against the Koopalings, unlock course customizations and costumes, and player with up to four players in local multiplayer (though additional games, systems, and karts are required).

The game itself will be free on the Nintendo eShop, while the Mario Set and Luigi Set (presumably containing the karts) will have the SRP of $99.99 USD.
