Aperture Science 3D, a Homebrew Portal for the 3DS, is in the Works

A homebrew version of Valve‘s classic puzzle platformer, Portal, is being created for the Nintendo 3DS. It’s called Aperture Science 3D, and you can watch video of the current alpha build playing on the handheld above.

The developer is creating the game using the 3DS emulator, Citra. The homebrew is still a work in progress, but does have the portal functionality, momentum jumps, cube physics, and switches implemented. The developer doesn’t know whether they’ll be able to complete the project—which is why they’ve provided the source code for the game, for those interested.

A homebrew Portal for the Nintendo DS also exists, called Aperture Science.
