PQube has announced that sprite’s visual novel Aokana: Four Rhythm Across the Blue has been delayed on PlayStation 4.
As stated in our previous coverage; the game itself features a world where anti-gravity shoes have allowed humans to fly, leading to the Flying Circus sport. After a terrible defeat, Flying Circus prodigy and student Masaya Hinata had turned away from competing, along with another reason.
He regains his passion in teaching transfer student Asuka Kurashina to fly. Now he re-enters the sport as a coach, while falling for his fellow students.
We also covered how the game would be uncensored on Nintendo Switch, but censored on PlayStation 4. Recently we delved into the rumor that Tencent had influenced Sony in some way to encourage censorship of anime-styled sexual content on PlayStation 4.
In late December 2018, Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia President Atsushi Morita stated the then recent spate of censorship of anime-styled sexual content on PlayStation 4 games had been “to meet global standards.” This censorship was seemingly forced in Japan.
Now, PQube has announced the game will be delayed on PlayStation 4 due to unspecified “development issues.” More details are to be revealed “in the coming months.”
You can find an abridged rundown of the game (via Steam) below.
Story
In a world where flying through the sky is as simple as riding a bicycle, the sport “Flying Circus” is all the rage.
Following the discovery of anti-gravitons, special shoes that allow an individual to fly, Anti-Graviton Shoes, took the world by storm.
And with the Grav Shoes came an entire new world for people to explore. Not long after, that revolution in technology gave birth to a brand new sport, Flying Circus, which used the shoes to make players compete in the open sky.
Masaya Hinata, who was once considered a prodigy, turned his back on Flying Circus after suffering a crushing defeat, although there was also another reason…
However, his former passion is reignited while teaching the new transfer student, Asuka Kurashina, how to fly.
This time, Masaya chooses to enter the world of Flying Circus not as a player, but a coach. Sometimes fighting, and at other times encouraging each other, he and his team decide to challenge the top student athletes in Japan.
Now, with Asuka by his side, how high will he be able to fly?
This is a story about those who met through the sky, as well as the friends who surround them.
Aokana: Four Rhythm Across the Blue is available on Windows PC (via Steam), and PlayStation Vita. In Japan the game is also available on Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4. In the rest of the world, it will launch August 21st on Nintendo Switch, and 2020 on PlayStation 4.
