Anno 1404 is Free-to-Keep Until December 14

Publisher Ubisoft and developer Ubisoft Mainz have announced Anno 1404 is free-to-keep right now, letting city builder afficionados get a taste of the classic and medieval builder.

While Anno 1404 is free-to-keep from now until December 14th at 6 AM Pacific / 9 AM Eastern, you can only get and own the game on Ubisoft’s Store, as well as their game launcher. Redeeming the free game will let you keep the game forever in your Ubisoft Connect library.

If you want to own the game on Steam, it is currently 50% off but even after purchasing it through Steam, once it gets launched you’ll still have to activate the game through Ubisoft Connect and login with your Ubisoft account.

Anno 1404 was known as Dawn of Discovery in North America and was released back in 2009, with Ubisoft’s Blue Byte and Related Designs (now known as Ubisoft Mainz) co-developing the title. The game was remastered as Anno 1404 – History Edition for PC in 2020 as part of the Anno History Collection and is available via Steam, GOG, and the Ubisoft Store.
