Aniplex is acquiring DELiGHTWORKS game business via a new agreement where the Sony subsidiary will acquire all their shares and move the company to a new subsidiary.

The new agreement is supposed to be completed sometime in spring 2022 and will see all of DELiGHTWORKS game divisions moved to a new yet-to-be-named subsidiary within Aniplex proper.

As this is essentially a corporate division between Aniplex, their new subsidiary, and DELiGHTWORKS, the entire agreement is still reliant on the approval of associated authorities and regulators.

Following the new Aniplex subsidiary, their staff and developers will focus on growing Aniplex’s game business overall. The Fate/Grand Order oversight and production committee will now be comprised of Aniplex, Notes, and the aforementioned new yet-to-be-named subsidiary.

After the agreement and changeover of staff, DELiGHTWORKS will remain an independent company and will continue operating outside of Aniplex.
