Anime studio Gonzo apologizes for censored Witchblade art


Animation studio Gonzo apologized for sharing censored artwork to promote goods for anime series Witchblade.

The new promotional artwork was apparently only censored on Twitter, and is uncensored on the actual items.

The official Witchblade Twitter account (the anime is from 2006) shared news of new goods available via the Gonzo store:

Afterwards, the international Twitter account for animation studio Gonzo apologized and noted the key visual shared was censored solely for use on Twitter:

The Gonzo-produced Witchblade anime is loosely based on the American comic book of the same name, and premiered back in 2006.
