Americana Dawn Explores The Country’s Past

With so many games popping up on Kickstarter, it can be tough covering all of the quality titles vying for your precious donation dollars. Thanks to a commenter on our site by the name of Siveon, I was made aware of a new RPG called Americana Dawn.

Though Americana Dawn has a visual aestethic that heavily resembles Suikoden (And a combat screen that looks like Ogre Battle), the theme of the RPG is what sets it apart from the thousands of other games on Kickstarter. Like the recently released Boot Hill Heroes, Americana Dawn digs into America’s history to tell it’s story.

Inspired by the lack of games based on American folklore, the designers hope to craft an RPG that does the setting justice while also creating a new way to look at the country’s history. So far, the game looks fantastic. Of particular note is the tactical RPG strategy war game that resembles Suikoden.

As of this writing, the game is 50K short of their $70,000 goal with only 14 days left.

Besides its Kickstarter, more info can be found on the game’s Steam Greenlight page.

Sweet, my name is immortalized in a kickstarter article.Er, something about that sentence doesn’t seem right…ah well.

I do hope they get some kind of funding because well, just look at it. It looks freaking fantastic.

It does, and I like the fact that it has that revolutionary war vibe.

Also, thanks for the heads-up on it!

I backed this a week or so ago. It’s a shame that it looks like it won’t get funded, it seems really cool. I hope they find a way to make it even if they don’t get funded.

    America Fuck Yeah!

Ahem, anyways, it looks well made. I would laugh if it fell by the wayside because it was too American. I’ll back it because I still have some nationalism in this body. And because the game looks pretty cool.
