Despite telling fans to stop bugging him for a new surrealist-horror Alice game, American McGee is apparently working on an honest-to-goodness proposal for a new game within the series.
Previously, McGee was keen to note that the rights to the intellectual property rested within the infernal digital vaults of Electronic Arts – they weren’t leaping at greenlighting a new game prior.
Now, McGee has announced his plans on Twitter and on his blog for a true Alice sequel, which is tentatively named Alice: Asylum.
The goal is to prepare everything from artwork to a business model, before presenting everything to EA at some point.
McGee also confirmed weekly livestreams, where prospective players of the sequel can give feedback and suggestions to McGee and his team at Spicy Horse.
The last game in the series, Alice: Madness Returns, was released back in 2011 for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. An animated sequel, Alice: Otherlands, was released back in October of 2015.
