AMD has launched the refreshed Ryzen 3000XT CPUs which boast higher clock speeds, and partnered with Maingear with its new TURBO desktop designed for the living room.

As detailed in the press releases (via email), the new XT parts from AMD are refreshed versions of the 3000 series CPUs released last year, these with higher boost frequencies. 100 MHz for the 3900XT and 3600XT over the 3900X and 3600XT; and 200 Mhz for the 3800XT over the 3800X.

The A520 motherboards will be available next month, which will slot in at a more affordable price since the price increase on B550 motherboards.

MAINGEAR — an award-winning PC system integrator of custom gaming desktops, notebooks, and workstations — today launched their all-new compact desktop that’s powered exclusively by 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen™ processors: the MAINGEAR TURBO. Engineered in collaboration with AMD, the MAINGEAR TURBO subverts expectations and delivers the high-end performance and cooling efficiency of a full-sized desktop in a system no larger than a shoebox. TURBO power — zero compromises.

“With higher clock speeds[1] and better power efficiency[2], the 3000XT series processors are optimized for high performance gaming,” said Chris Kilburn, corporate vice president and general manager, client component business unit, AMD. “AMD is thrilled to be partnering with MAINGEAR on the exclusive AMD powered TURBO gaming desktops. With its ultra-compact size and whisper quiet water-cooling, the MAINGEAR TURBO is tailor made for the new AMD Ryzen™ 3000XT series desktop processors.”

MAINGEAR’s new TURBO small-form-factor desktop features best-in-class performance, supporting the latest members of the award-winning 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen™ processor family — the new AMD Ryzen™ 3000XT series processors. The impossibly small yet fully-featured TURBO desktop fits in perfectly at a desk or in the living room, bringing true 4K PC gaming to any entertainment center. Each TURBO system is hand-crafted, housing powerful components in a sleek chassis with a server-grade steel interior, aluminum exterior, and a tempered glass side panel. A custom dynamic fan controller and upward directional airflow dissipate heat efficiently and quietly so that temperature management needn’t be a concern unlike with some other small-form-factor desktops.

“As we approach the next console generation, many gamers are looking for the best performance that their money can buy,” said Wallace Santos, founder and CEO of MAINGEAR. “The new MAINGEAR TURBO is an incredibly powerful gaming machine that can easily meet the needs of next-generation 4K and ray-traced gaming experiences at uncapped frame rates. Built from best-in-class upgradeable components and housed in a console-sized chassis engineered in-house at MAINGEAR, the TURBO is our most impressive custom system to date. There’s no better time than now to experience the versatility and freedom of PC gaming.”

Optimized with higher boost frequencies[3] than the previous generation of processors, AMD Ryzen™ 3000XT series desktop processors maximize performance for a variety of workloads, including gaming, streaming, and multitasking. MAINGEAR TURBO systems can be configured with new AMD Ryzen™ 5 3600XT, AMD Ryzen™ 7 3800XT, AMD Ryzen™ 9 3900XT, or AMD Ryzen™ 3000 series processors — offering up to 16 cores and 32 threads of incredible processing power. TURBO systems support top-tier NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX and AMD Radeon™ RX graphics cards, in addition to up to 64GB of premium DDR4 3600MHz RAM and a selection of ultra-fast PCIe® Gen4 NVMe SSDs.

Exquisitely machined from solid blocks of crystal-clear acrylic, APEX is the best performing and most visually stunning liquid cooling solution around — and it’s available exclusively from MAINGEAR.

Niche Gamer’s Take: The Newer Ryzen 3000XT parts are a more mature process (I.E. The longer a product has been manufactured the higher quality it tends to be) should have some additional overclocking ability. Though launching at the original launch price of the parts it’s replacing, you may be better off in some situations buying the older parts and saving up to a hundred dollars.

The Maingear Turbo though seems like a capable small form factor PC; much like other models coming out from brands like MSI, ASUS, and others- and is priced well.
