AMD has announced during Computex 2024 that their next generation of CPUs will be arriving to market in July.

The new chips will be powered by their latest Zen5 architecture and will be the official successors to the 7000 series which launched back in 2022.

During the planned launch in July, four SKUs are set to release. Their names are listed below and will continue the same scheme and core count as previous generations:

  • Ryzen 9 9950X (16 cores)
  • Ryzen 9 9900X (12 cores)
  • Ryzen 7 9700X (8 cores)
  • Ryzen 5 9600X (6 cores)

AMD is claiming a 16% IPC improvement architecturally speaking, while also making claims that their flagship CPU with the Ryzen 9 9950X is up to 23% than competitor Intel’s current flagship.

These CPUs will be launch on July 31st. Pricing has not been confirmed, though likely to be similar to the original MSRP of AMD’s previous generation counterparts.
