Amazon Making an “Ambitious” PC Game with Former Portal, World of Warcraft and BioShock Devs

world of warcraft warlords of dreanor 06-06-15-1

While Amazon launched their Fire TV games and set up top box in April of last year, the more interesting tidbit of news was the fact that Amazon had entered the games development business.

The global retailer also purchased the Killer Instinct reboot co-developer, Double Helix, however, they’re now hiring for their first PC game. While details are currently scant, we know that the publisher is looking to add to their existing team, which they boast has former Portal, World of Warcraft and BioShock developers.

The company touts the new game as an “ambitious new PC game” that uses “the latest technology.” The new development studio isn’t named, but we know they’re based out of Seattle. There’s even a direct hiring manager’s contact information, in case you’re a developer looking for work.

We’ll keep you guys posted.

Former Portal developer is quite vague and it also means that the person left the company after Portal, as they didn’t credit Portal 2.

Therefore my first guess would be Kim Swift, which isn’t exactly an exiting development. Her games since leaving Valve have all been less than stellar.

Seattle isn’t exactly budget friendly (Because residents decided teenagers, ex-cons and dropouts needed to make enough to raise a family, basic goods are either scarce or expensive to compensate for the labor issues that created, which drives up the price for everything else). I foresee a mr. shitface problem.

As a Seattleite my first response is: What?

Please don’t speak about things you know nothing about. You sound like a salty conservative.

Because all those businesses haven’t closed or raised prices. Nope. None at all.

You didn’t name any businesses. What are you even talking about?

For reference I live on the eastside. I haven’t seen any raised prices and things are on the up and up around where I live.
