Alwa’s Collection Announced for Switch and PS4

Publisher Clear River Games and developer Elden Pixels have announced Alwa’s Collection for both Switch and PS4.

Alwa’s Collection is coming to both Switch and PlayStation 4, bringing with it both retro metroidvania-style platformer games Alwa’s Awakening and Alwa’s Legacy. A retail version is coming later in 2021 $29.99.

It’s worth noting Alwa’s Legacy is not available digitally for PlayStation 4, and is launching the same day as the Alwa’s Collection.

A $69.99 limited edition is coming via Limited Run Games, it includes: the deluxe versions of each soundtracks on a USB, a game scene diorama, art cards with early art sketches and a special keychain, all housed in a hand-embossed box.

Retro-Bit is also offering the Alwa’s Awakening: The 8-Bit Edition for the original Nintendo Entertainment System, for $59.99 and a $19.99 Digical edition (includes both the digital and physical releases).

Here’s a rundown on both games:

About Alwa’s Legacy:

Alwa’s Legacy is a modern retro game full of dangerous dungeons, mystic items and ancient secrets. Upgrade your magic and choose your own path in this non-linear adventure game brimming with exploration.

About Alwa’s Awakening

Use your magic staff and progress through a large interconnected world where you’ll solve puzzles, fight enemies and defeat bosses in order to help free the land of Alwa. Explore and uncover the secrets by using your platforming skills in this challenging and charming 8-bit adventure game.

Alwa’s Awakening is a game that tries to stay as close as possible to the authentic 8-bit look with sweet pixel art, a soundtrack filled with catchy chiptunes and so much charm it’ll bring you right back to the golden age of video games. With easy to understand controls the game is easy to learn but tough to master, just like how games were in the old days!
