Publisher Funcom and developer Astrolabe Interactive have announced a release date for Aloft, their floating island co-op sandbox survival game.

Aloft is set to launch in early access on January 15th, 2025 for Windows PC (via Steam). A playable demo for the game is now available.

Having already garnered praise from players across several demos, Aloft’s solid foundation is a huge and wind-shaped world in which you can transform any floating island you want into your personal skyship, outfitting it with sails, rudder, helm, and everything it needs to harness the winds.

Enjoy the zen of building and crafting, the satisfaction of cleansing the corruption from islands’ ecosystems, and the thrill of exploring serene and stormy skies, all while uncovering the mysterious past that has rendered the world as it is. As you travel, collect seeds to plant, animals to nurture, and ancient technology to progress.

Brave the elements alone or band together in groups of up to 8 players, each of you capable of bringing your own skyship with you when joining another player’s world. Cluster together and you can light up the night sky with an entire airborne village.

Throughout Early Access, Aloft will expand with brand new game mechanics, biomes to explore, challenges to overcome, items to craft, and much more.
