[UPDATE: both Aliens vs. Predator and Aliens: Colonial Marines returned to Steam today. The reason for their temporary absence on Steam and not elsewhere still goes unexplained.]
Eurogamer reported that Aliens vs Predator and Aliens: Colonial Marines (from which the header image is sourced) are no longer available for download on Steam. (Two other Alien titles, 2000’s Aliens vs Predator, and Alien: Isolation remain on the store.)
At the beginning of the year, licenses for the rights to games often lapse, but that’s unlikely to be the reason for their removal from the store. Colonial Marines is still available on PSN and Xbox Live, and Aliens vs. Predator is still on XBL.
It’s a curious development, and one I’m struggling to figure out a reason for. Place your guesses in the comments.
