Alien: Isolation E3 2014 Hands-on Preview

alien isolation 06-11-14-1

Alien: Isolation was absolutely TERRIFYING. This demo was played behind closed doors, and on the Playstation 4.

I died about three minutes into my first play through, and on my second I was so terrified I was ready for death about five minutes in.

The objective of the demo was to escape the area of the ship that you were currently in, and you only had a motion detector that would help you track the location of the alien and direct you to the exit, as well as a flamethrower with BARELY any ammunition.

As I began to sneak through the dark corridors of the ship, my heart began to beat faster and faster as the indicator light on the tracker showed that the alien was right behind me.  I turned around and saw it, and immediately lost my nerve, and wildly sprayed the flamethrower in every direction I could. I was hoping to kill the thing but it simply stepped out of the way, making my jaw drop, and before I had a chance to react, it pounced on me, and I died again.

I left the demo room shaking. No horror game has ever, ever done that to me before.  I can’t wait to play this game again.

About

I've been playing games since i was six years old, and they are a huge part of my life. I play every genre I can get my hands on, and I'm not afraid to admit that I'm addicted.
