Akiba’s Trip 2 has been confirmed for a Western release for a little while now, but the team at developer Acquire are not stopping there. They’ve now confirmed that a Playstation 4 version of the game is in the works, and it’s set for a release in Japan on July 3rd.

The game first launched in Japan last November across both Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita, and it will feature quicker load times, enhanced graphics, a larger number of NPCs displayed at one time in Akihabara, share button functionality, and more.

One of the more notable additions to the game is a Visual Editor mode, which lets you create your own wire-frame cyberspace version of Akihabara, allowing you to do stuff like change the atmosphere of a particular day in the story. Additionally, all the paid and free downloadable content from the previous versions will be coming on the Playstation 4 versions disc. First run copies of the came will come with a Character Variation Set download code, unlocking some new costumes for various characters in game.

The share button functionality was detailed a bit as well, specifically the ability to help other players who are stuck by entering comments like “help,” which sends the protagonist’s hikkikomori sister, Nana, to come save the day with really powerful equipment. There’s also stuff for the voyeurs in all of us, like entering “panty jump” into the comments, which makes panties rain down from the skies.

If you’re already getting antsy in your seat reading this, fans already bugged XSEED on Twitter about whether or not this version would be coming to North America, and they said:

“our deal is for the PS3 and Vita versions only right now, but we will look into this.”

We’ll keep you guys posted.
