    The upcoming anime adaptation of Aharen-san wa Hakarenai will premiere this April as part of the Spring 2022 anime season.

    Originally announced last year, Aharen-san wa Hakarenai is a romantic comedy and slice of life series that follows Matsuboshi Raidou as he puts up with his eccentric classmate: the titular Aharen Reina. Reina is a young woman with a petite frame who has trouble understanding social situations; after picking up her dropped eraser for her, she believes that her and Raidou are now best friends.

    The series follows Raidou and Reina as the former puts up with the antics of the latter. The two quickly form a friendship that might become something more as Raidou spends more and more time with the hopeless girl.

    The series is the latest in a popular subgenre following the romance of straight-laced guys and strange or simply eccentric women. Other examples of the genre include Aho Girl and Uzaki Wants to Hang Out!
