Publisher Microsoft and developers Tantalus Media and Forgotten Empires have announced Age of Empires III: DE gets United States civ and a new African expansion.
When Age of Empires III: DE gets United States civ as a separate civ, it will launch next Tuesday, April 13th in a big update to the game. The United States civ brings with it a new unique explorer unit, nine other units, a new home city, and a new “age up” mechanic, alongside other new content.
Players will be able to unlock the United States civ for free for a limited time by completing the “Fifty States Challenge”, or by purchasing it separately as paid downloadable content. The game is also getting new African civilizations later this year, which will be included in a new expansion.
