Aether Foundation, Poké Finder and Ultra Beasts Debut on Latest Pokémon Sun & Moon Video

The latest Pokémon Sun & Moon video from The Official Pokémon Channel is chock full of new information and debuts.

Two new pokémon were revealed: the Chimera-like and oddly named Type: Null; and the Korean heart crested dragon Jangmo-o. Alolan Raticate was also confirmed, following the reveal of Alolan Rattata on past video.

This Pokémon wearing a mask has been dubbed “Null,” meaning nothing.

The shapes of its front and hind legs are clearly different. The reason is that Type: Null was constructed to synthesize the strengths of various Pokémon, enabling it to adapt to any situation.

The mask fitted to Type: Null’s head is a piece of equipment designed to control its latent powers. It’s extremely heavy, so it also serves to hinder Type: Null’s agility.

To complete a certain mission, there was need of a Pokémon powerful enough to rival those Pokémon often spoken of in mythology.

Jangmo-o has the pride of a warrior, although it remains humble about its capabilities. In its pursuit to become stronger, it never neglects its training.

Because Jangmo-o uses the scales on its head for both offense and defense, it never turns its back to its enemies. Many Trainers see this behavior and take it as proof that Jangmo-o is a valiant Pokémon.

Jangmo-o gather in harsh locales like canyons, where no other people or Pokémon are around, to live together as they train.

The Aether Foundation is a Pokémon care and protection organization that is established on the artificial island Aether Paradise, situated in the middle of the Alola region islands. They provide shelter for injured or hunted Pokémon and also perform several kinds of research. They act as the counterpart to Team Skull and they’re led by the charismatic president Lusamine. Other Aether Foundation members were also revealed, such as the Brach Chiefs Wicke and Faba.

A new Team Skull member made it’s appearance, Gladion. Not much is know about him, but he seems to be the Enforcer of the team.

It was also revealed that Pokémon Sun & Moon will differ more than just the Pokémon that are available on each version. While Pokémon Sun runs on the same clock of your Nintendo 3ds, Pokémon Moon will be 12 hours ahead. Players will also experience different events depending of your game version.

Dexio and Sina, Professor Sycamore assistants from Pokémon X & Y, will return and introduce you to a Zygarde related quest, where you will hunt Zygarde Cells and Core with the help of a Zygarde Cube.

The Poké Finder will be a mini game where you can take pictures with the help of your Rotom Dex. Special spots will allow you to take pictures of Pokémon be graded for their quality, it a style similar to the N64 Pokémon Snap game. The better the picture the more points you earn, unlocking new features like zooming.

For last, a new kind of mysterious Pokémon was introduced: Ultra Beasts. The first of the kind to be revealed was UB-01.

B-01’s body is composed of a glass-like substance. However, it’s constantly changing shapes, never settling on one.

While evidence of something like a survival instinct can be observed in UB-01, no one knows whether it has a will of its own or any emotions. It’s said that, for some reason, its movements resemble those of a young girl.

Pokémon Sun & Moon will be released on November 23, 2016 for the Nintendo 3DS.
