Activision has announced a new development studio, based out of Poland.
The new studio will be known as Infinity Ward Poland, and as the name suggests, they’re set to work closely with the main Infinity Ward studio based out of Los Angeles. Infinity Ward principal rendering engineer Michal Drobot is going to lead the new Polish team.
Further details weren’t confirmed, however Infinity Ward boss Dave Stohl talked up the new expansion:
“We’re thrilled to announce the expansion of our development capabilities with the opening of Infinity Ward Poland,” Stohl said. “We’re building a world-class R&D studio that will tap into the creative local game development culture and talent in Poland. This expansion will further solidify our position as one of the most dedicated and accomplished teams in the industry. We look forward to great things to come.”
The studios latest game, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (pictured), was released back in November of last year for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. If Activision’s typical development cycle persists, Infinity Ward is on deck to produce the 2019 Call of Duty game.
