Action-Adventure Game, Velocity 2X, Coming to Xbox One and PCs

Futurlab have announced that they’re partnering with the resurrected Sierra Entertainment to port Velocity 2X, an action-adventure game, to the Xbox One and Windows, Linux, and Mac PCs. The game was previously published for the PS4 and Vita. You can watch the announcement trailer above.

Futurlab explains that “self-publishing is HARD” (sic), and they’d rather spend their time creating games instead of marketing them. So when Sierra showed interest in working with them, they said yes. “The best bit,” they added, “Is that we retain control of our IP.”

So what’s Velocity 2X about? Here’s Sierra doing their job:

Abducted by a race of hostile aliens, Lt. Kai Tana must use her quick reflexes and the teleporting power of the Quarp Jet to free her fellow prisoners and find a way home. Swapping back and forth between top-down vertical shoot ‘em up and side-scrolling action platformer, Velocity 2X blends two unique styles of fast-paced, frenetic gameplay into one incredible experience.

We covered Velocity 2X when it was coming to Playstation, so you can backtrack if you’re curious.
