So it’s official, SEGA has wholly bought out Index Corporation and all of its assets, including Atlus, famous for series like Persona, Etrian Odyssey and Shin Megami Tensei.

Now, Atlus has followed up with a letter from their consumer software department head, Naoto Hiraoka. You can read the contents of the letter below:

Dear customers,  We are always very grateful to have your continued support for our products.

Today, as announced through our investor relations, Atlus will be continuing our business as part of the Sega Sammy group, starting on November 11th. As you might know, Index Corporation filed for bankruptcy protection on June 27th, and been looking to transfer their business to another company.

Above all, we at Atlus corporation have our consumer game business continually supported by an large amount of fans. Regardless of the business itself coming to a much favorable position recently, lately we have made our customers worry, to whom we deeply apologize.

We’ve traditionally had a strong relationship with Sega Corporation, who is also using consumer game business as the main pillarfor their business. This time, we expect to maintain the relationship between us, while achieving better business synergy. By using Sega’s strong network, we look forward to further expanding our development processes. In terms of consumer games expertise, this relationship will be mutually beneficial for both sides. It is about the deep acknowledgement of wanting to further raise our brand.

We feel that our ongoing business is in excellent shape, and it brings us great pleasure to be able to report our continuing business moving forward. This has been made possible thanks to your continued patronage and support. On behalf of all the employees, we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

Currently, the employees of the consumer game business are working fiendishly on future releases, and are definitely looking forward to taking on new challenges. In the near future, we will be reporting our ongoing situation through the media, so please expect further developments.

Director of consumer software department,

Naoto Hiraoka
