Square Enix is gearing up a free to play version of Bravely Default on the Japanese 3DS eShop.

Due out later this month on July 28th, Bravely Default: For the Sequel – Full Free Play Edition (that’s a mouthful) comes with the first four chapters of the full game, entirely for free. If the player wants to continue their journey to the end, they can buy the update kit which contains the final five chapters, the full Japanese voice overs, and an AR movie, for 200 yen.

You can check out our review for Bravely Default here, and you can also read about its still in development sequel, Bravely Second, here.
