Rating For Remastered PC Version Of Shadow Complex Spotted

Based on the work of science fiction writer Orson Scott Card, 2009’s breakout Xbox Live Metroidvania Shadow Complex made big waves in the digital market at a time when having a download-only game attain a large measure of success was almost unheard of. Developed by the Epic-Games-owned studio Chair Entertainment – where Nintendo personality Howard Phillips worked at for two years – Shadow Complex broke sales records at the time with its staggering 200,000 “units” sold during its first week of release. By all accounts, it was a fabulously successful title and, one could say, helped spur others into creating games exclusively for Xbox Live.

If you’re one of those who enjoyed it, you’ll be happy to know that a rating has appeared in Europe for a supposed PC remaster of the game. Though no official word has been spoken about such a remake, this does bode well for Metroidvania fans who might have missed Shadow Complex the first time around, or those who have a strong desire to go back.

Shadow Complex stood out among most other platformers at the time thanks to it having a rich story, yet it was often criticized by gaming outlets whose writers harbored ill-will towards Orson Scott Card due to the writer’s own personal opinions. Regardless, fans of strong narrative and equally tight platformer mechanics will have something good to look forward to in the coming year. Thanks to NeoGAF for the tip.
