Publisher Bliss Brain and developer Implicit Conversions announced 70s-style Robot Anime Geppy-X remaster will let players toggle between the remastered and original visuals.
The decision to add the new toggle to the game was made after fan requests were sent after its reveal earlier this year, which the team agrees is important for both fans wanting to see the original game and for game preservationists.
Here’s a rundown on the new details, plus a look at the toggle in action:
In 70’s-Style Robot Anime Geppy-X, one of the new features we are most proud to include is the addition of an HD remastered version of the animations, digitized directly from the Betacam tapes delivered by the animation studio.
Following the announcement, we received requests from fans who shared that they would love to see the original version of the animations as well. We agree that this is important, especially in the name of preservation, so we have decided to include a feature that allows players to switch between the remastered and original movie versions. This feature will be included in the base game and will not be released as DLC.
We invite you to experience the unique atmosphere of the original production, which packed 8,000 hand-drawn animation cels onto four CD-ROMs.
The new 70s-style Robot Anime Geppy-X remaster is set to launch across Windows PC (via Steam and the Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X|S, Switch, PS4, and PS5 on July 16th.
