7-11 plans to bring Japanese food items to the United States

Japanese 7-11

7-11 is planning to bring a wider selection of Japanese food items to US stores.

Anime fans might be vaguely aware of the wide selection offered at convenience stores (konbini) and 7-11 is one of the biggest in the business. Onigiri, fruit sandwiches, yakisoba subs, and more are all on offer at Japanese 7-11 locations.

According to NBC news, a spokesperson for 7-11 said:

We are constantly evolving the fresh food assortment in our stores, tailoring the offerings at each location to meet the needs and preferences of local customers… Our team draws inspiration from around the world to introduce new items like Mangonada donuts with Tajin, barbecue pork sliders, chicken curry bowls and everything breakfast sandwiches that can be found at select 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes stores across the country

7-11 is actually owned by Japanese parent company Seven & I Holdings due to the store’s immense success in Japan, and while 7-11 stores are a common feature in even the most rural parts of the US, no one does it as good as Japan.

Some stores are allegedly already carrying Japanese food items, but we’re hoping that this selection ends up going nationwide.
