65 first trailer reveals new dinosaur horror film from Sam Raimi

65

We finally got a reveal trailer for 65, the new film from Columbia Pictures that is now revealed as a dinosaur survival horror flick.

Set 65 million years in the past, star and main protagonist Mills (Adam Driver) must survive a dinosaur-filled earth, stranded after crash landing on the planet. For years since the film was announced and started filming in 2020, its premise wasn’t properly revealed (intentionally or not), until now.

Co-produced by Sam Raimi, Zainab Azizi, and Debbie Liebling alongside writer/directors Scott Beck and Bryan Woods (A Quiet Place), the film was co-developed by Columbia Pictures, Raimi Productions, Bron Creative, and Beck/Woods. Danny Elfman is also composing the score for the film.

Other main cast include Ariana Greenblatt as Koa, Nika King as Alya, and Chloe Coleman (in an unknown role). Filming was seemingly only done in the swamps of Louisiana, both in New Orleans and the Kisatchie National Forest in Vernon Parish.

The synopsis reads: “After a catastrophic crash on an unknown planet, pilot Mills quickly discovers he’s stranded on Earth… 65 million years ago. Now, with only one chance at rescue, Mills and the only other survivor, Koa, must make their way across an unknown terrain riddled with dangerous prehistoric creatures (including dinosaurs) in an epic fight to survive.”

Here’s the first trailer, and its official poster:

65 is set to premiere in the United States on March 10th, 2023.
