4X Strategy Game Endless Space 2 Enters Full Release on May 19

Independent French developer Amplitude Studios and publisher Sega have announced the full release date for Endless Space 2.

The upcoming 4x space-strategy sequel will finally leave Steam Early Access on May 19th, entering its full release. To celebrate, a new trailer was revealed for the game that introduces one of the playable factions: The Riftborn.

Here’s a brief synopsis for the Riftborn:

Hailing from an alternate dimension orthogonal to the Endless universe, the Riftborn would’ve happily led out their abstract, timeless existences entirely ignorant of galactic strife, were it not for a breach that precipitated a disaster of unimaginable proportions. Like a poisoned blade slashed deep into clean flesh, the rift acted as a source of terrible disorder in the Riftborn’s pristine, geometrical universe. Desperate, unable to halt the disease’s advance no matter what they tried, the Riftborn took the last available course of action that might lead to their survival: Together with their strange time-shifting abilities, they stepped into the Endless universe.

The game will be available in both standard and a Digital Deluxe editions, as well as a box collector’s edition that will be available at retail. The collector’s edition includes: a double-side Pathfinder Academy poster, and a printed version of The Last Flight of the Gray Owl, which is described as a “community-driven” origin story that was penned back in 2015 for the original Endless Legend.

You can find Endless Space 2 here on Steam for Windows PC.
