The Raspberry Pi Foundation has announced the Raspberry Pi 4 – the latest in their micro-PC line of hardware.
The new Pi 4 Model B has “ground-breaking” enhancements to performance, mostly due to its new 1.5GHz quad-core Broadcom processor (with H.265 decoding). Featured above, you can view a teaser video for the new Pi 4.
In terms of other features, the Pi 4 includes two micro-HDMI ports, up to 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, and the Pi 4 can also reportedly output 4K video at 60 frames per second. There’s also Bluetooth 5.0, 802.11AC WiFi, gigabit Ethernet, two USB 3.0 ports, and a single USB 2.0 port.
Pricing is reasonable as well – the 1GB RAM model is $35, the 2GB model is $45, and the flagship 4GB model is $55.
The Pi Foundation is positioning the Pi 4 as being robust enough to even compete with “entry-level” x86 computers.
