Take-Two is Working on Three Remasters

Take-Two is working on three remasters or re-releases, the company said in a recent investor presentation.

The news that Take-Two Interactive is working on three remasters or some kind of re-releases (via PC Gamer) comes after rumors have been swirling that the Rockstar Games parent company is looking to remake the legendary Grand Theft Auto 3, as well as its spinoffs Vice City and San Andreas.

There have been fan attempts at “remastering” Grand Theft Auto 3 and its spinoffs, however the majority have gotten blocked by Take-Two proper, raising questions if they’re finally cooking up their own remaster.

Reportedly, Take-Two has the aforementioned remasters or re-releases planned for next year, alongside three more unannounced but previously confirmed releases – bringing the total of remasters or re-releases to a whopping six projects.

A recent re-release from the company was the Mafia: Definitive Edition in September 2020, and they’re also porting Grand Theft Auto V, the most recent entry in the franchise, to both Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 in November of this year.

It’s worth noting that alongside the popular online component for Grand Theft Auto V, Grand Theft Auto Online, is also getting a standalone release for the latest generation of home game consoles – which is also launching in November.
