PAX Australia 2021 Postponed to 2022 Due to COVID-19 Risks, Digital Event to Take Place

PAX Australia

PAX Australia organizers have announced the physical event is postponed to 2022, and a digital event announced for this year.

Organizers state that while they were optimistic about hosting the event physically on October 8th to 10th in Melbourne, Victoria; the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic mean the event will now take place in 2022. Those who purchased a ticket are entitled to a full refund, and will be receiving information in the next seven days.

The physical event would have featured an exhibit hall, panels, tournaments, live performances, pin trading, the Diversity Lounge, the PAX XP Arcadia scavenger hunt, indie showcase, and freeplay of handheld, PC, console, VR, and tabletop games.

In its stead PAX Aus Online will happen once again. Details on the event will be revealed over the coming days. “The entire PAX Aus Team would like to thank you for your ongoing support and understanding during this challenging time,” the statement concludes. “While we can’t all come together in person this year, we urge you all to continue to stay in touch with us, your community, and each other.”
