SNK Corporation have released a new gameplay teaser trailer for The King of Fighters XV focused on Athena Asamiya.
A distant decedent of the heroine of the Athena platformer arcade game and protagonist of Psycho Soldier; Athena first entered the tournament scene in The King of Fighters ’94.
While a happy-go-lucky student and pop idol, Athena combines kung-fu with almighty psychic powers to be a powerhouse in the ring. Graceful moves are combined with blasts of psychic energy, telekinesis, teleportation, and psychic-enhanced strikes.
She will be joining Team Super Heroine along with Mai Shiranui, and Yuri Sakazaki. While the team usually features King instead of Athena, she is instead with Ryo Sakazaki and Robert Garcia on Team Art of Fighting.
