Death Stranding: Director’s Cut Launches September 24 on PlayStation 5

Death Stranding: Director’s Cut

Kojima Productions has announced the release date of Death Stranding: Director’s Cut, along with some of the new features coming to the game.

After the devastating Death Stranding, invisible creatures called the Beached Things, or BTs, began to roam across the US. Causing devastating explosions called voidouts, and summoning a rain that rapidly ages whatever it touches, the nation quickly fell to ruin.

Now Sam Bridges acts as a porter, transporting supplies to what few fractured and divided US cities and survivors remain. However, some humans have gained the ability to control BTs, and the terrible powers that come with it.

The new trailer confirms the features coming to the game. Along with being remastered for PlayStation 5, this includes new story missions, new foes, and new combat abilities. The latter means improved melee combat, the maser gun, mounted machine guns, and a firing range.

There will also be new ways to deliver goods; such as a cargo catapult, a support skeleton to carry more weight, a new “buddy bot” to carry supplies or Sam himself, and ramps to jump vehicles off of to cross chasms. There is even a new racing minigame called Fragile Circuit.
