Games Workshop Details Warhammer+ Subscription Service, Launches August 25

Warhammer+

Games Workshop have released the first details for Warhammer+, an upcoming subscription service for all things Warhammer.

Warhammer+ was originally announced as a streaming service that will host all of the upcoming Warhammer animated shows currently in development. However, this is not the only thing that the service will provide. The subscription will also offer access to apps, backlogs of old Warhammer books and magazines, VIP perks, hobby streams, and exclusive miniatures.

On the animation side, Warhammer+ will launch with the first episodes of Angels of Death and Hammer and Bolter. New episodes and series will be released on most Wednesdays, with Astartes II, Blacktalon, Iron Within, High Lords, Broken Lance, Alter of Wrath, Pariah Nexus, Interrogator, and The Exodite being the other shows currently in development.

In addition to the animated series, there will also be access to exclusive miniatures. Fans who stay subscribed for a full year will get their choice of a free miniature that is available only through Warhammer+.

The first models shown off include alternate sculpts for the Vindicare Assassin and Orruk Megaboss. If you want more, subscribers will have the option to buy them as well. More miniatures will be added to the subscription service as time goes on.

The Warhammer TV team is working on exclusive content for the subscription service as well. These include Citadel Colour Masterclass painting tutorials, a series that delves into Warhammer lore, and battle reports.

The Warhammer list building and rules apps will be rolled into the service too. This includes the current Warhammer 40,000 app, as well as the relaunch of the Age of Sigmar app tailored for the game’s upcoming 3rd Edition.

The 40k app will be getting some new upgrades, including a Crusade army manager. More apps are apparently in development, and will presumably be list builders and rule references for Games Workshop’s various specialist games.

The Warhammer Vault will be a digital trove of old Warhammer books. These include older or outdated rule books and reference materials, back issues of White Dwarf, and more.

Rounding out the list are extra perks when you attend an official Games Workshop event. This includes VIP badges, priority access, and free merch packages.

The Warhammer+ subscription service will launch August 25th for $5.99 USD a month, or $59.99 USD a year, which also includes two months free.
