Here’s a brief rundown on the game:
Starfield is the first new universe in 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4. In this next generation role-playing game set amongst the stars, create any character you want and explore with unparalleled freedom. Harnessing the power of next-gen technology and built on the all-new Creation Engine 2, Starfield takes you on a journey through space as you strive to answer humanity’s greatest mystery.
While we now know Starfield launches November 11, 2022 and is exclusive to PC and Xbox, the game was teased at the possibility of being an Xbox console exclusive ever since Microsoft acquired Bethesda in March 2021; though the deal to acquire it and parent company Zenimax Media was first announced in September of last year.
At the time of its acquisition, a Bethesda statement admitted “some” future Bethesda games will be exclusive to PC and Xbox. Nonetheless, head of Xbox Phil Spencer stated around that time that while exclusive games for Xbox Game Pass was the goal, they would still support Bethesda multiplatform releases.
