A closed beta test for upcoming action RPG Babylon’s Fall has been discovered on Steam.
As spotted by Gematsu, the listing appeared on SteamDB; a website dedicated to monitoring changes in Steam’s database. The update to the listing came June 1st, but details are scant aside from that. It is unknown whether it will be part of the Steam Playtest keyless playtester that is currently in beta, or a stand-alone program.
While the game was announced two years ago, and we saw the first gameplay in December 2019, details have been scant. The first gameplay from December 2019 shows PlatinumGames’ iconic action style, along with the “Brushwork Filter” to give the game its painting-like look even when in motion.
In July 2020, PlatinumGames insisted development was going well, and new information would be revealed that Summer. The lack of information around that time may be chalked up to the beginnings of the coronavirus pandemic. Square Enix announced they would be attending E3 2021, promising info on recent and upcoming releases, along with announcements.
Will we see more of Babylon’s Fall at E3 2021? We will keep you informed as we learn more.
Babylon’s Fall is in development for Windows PC and PlayStation 4.
