Marvelous have announced a No More Heroes III livestream, revealing more information about the game, and guest staring Hololive Vtuber Botan Shishiro.
As stated on Marvelous’ website (translation: Google Translate) the stream will be hosted by Japanese actor and radio personality Mafia Kajita; with guests Suda 51 (the game’s director) and Hololive Vtuber Botan Shishiro. Kajita had previously interviewed Hololive VTuber Murasaki Shion.
This is not the first time Shishiro has been involved in promoting a game. Recently, she promoted Xbox Game Pass during a livestream; typically aimed at a Japanese audience. Fellow Hololive Vtuber Himemori Luna also promoted the subscription service.
The use of a VTuber to promote a game is not just an increasingly popular trend, but entirely within character for the game. Protagonist Travis Touchdown is an otaku through-and-through, watching cute anime, collecting mecha figurines, and especially a deep love of pro wrestling. It is highly likely the Crownless King would be a fan of Vtubers as well.
The “No More Broadcasting Station 5.1GHm” premieres April 8th at 5 a.m. PT/ 8 a.m. ET via Twitter and YouTube.
No More Heroes III launches August 27th on Nintendo Switch. You can find the full rundown (via Nintendo) below.
Fight your way to the top of the Galactic Superhero Rankings!
The legendary assassin Travis Touchdown makes his glorious return to the Madness!
Our hero, Travis Touchdown, must make it to the top of the Galactic Superhero Rankings in order to stop the evil Prince FU and his ten alien assassins from taking over the Earth.
Earn money to enter ranked battles!
To enter into each subsequent ranked battle, you’ll need to pay a pretty steep fee. Travis must take on various missions around town to make the money he needs to fight. An invitation to the next fight will be sent once the required fees have been transferred via ATM.
Use your skills to dominate opponents!
Enjoy even more hardcore slash-‘em-up action than ever before as you use the Joy-Con’s intuitive controls to wield Travis Touchdown’s trusty Beam Katana along with a slew of pro wrestling techniques!
Also, featured for the first time in the series, Travis can now use his Death Glove to activate a variety of skills, allowing for more strategic battles. Furthermore, you can now customize the new Skill Tree and try out different Death Glove Chip combinations to find the play style that works best for you.
It’s the Galaxy vs. the Hood in a full-on war by proxy.
