505 Games Acquires Ghostrunner IP

Italian publisher 505 Games has announced they’ve acquired the Ghostrunner intellectual property for €5 million.

505 Games worked alongside Polish publisher All In! Games with the original release of Ghostrunner back in October 2020, however with the new acquisition they’ll be completely handling the IP, as well as “all licenses for the technological solutions used in the game.”

“When All in! Games was acquiring the IP of the game, 505 Games was also interested in the purchase, but in the initial stage of our cooperation we could not arrive to a mutually beneficial agreement,” said Piotr Żygadło, CEO of All in! Games.

He added, “Ghostrunner quickly turned out to be a huge success, which convinced them to submit an offer – one of those ‘hard to refuse’. This transaction shows that the strategy we adopted was correct. The 5 million euros gained through the sale, which will go exclusively to our company, will allow us to speed up our development processes.”

The original publishing agreement for Ghostrunner stipulated that all profits from the game’s ongoing sales will go to both publishers, which will be honored under the new acquisition.

Ghostrunner was co-developed between 3D Realms, Slipgate Ironworks, and One More Level, and is currently available for Windows PC (via SteamGOG, and the Epic Games Store), with Xbox Series X+S and PS5 versions planned to be released this year.
