Japanese developer aNCHOR has announced Project Mikhailtheir new action game set in the Muv-Luv universe, is set to release in August 2021 for PC and Switch.

Project Mikhail was originally supposed to hit early access in April of this year, but had to be slightly delayed as it seems the smartphone version has been seemingly dropped for a Nintendo Switch version.

aNCHOR also detailed their overall development roadmap, which you can find below:

  • End of April: Single-player game cycle construction and gamepad support for PC version
  • End of May: Support for Switch version
  • End of June: Multiplayer support
  • End of July: Debugging
  • August: PC/Switch version release (single-player implementation, multiplayer “GvG mode” beta implementation)
  • End of October: Major update (multiplayer “GvG mode” official version implemented, multiplayer season mode)

Project Mikhail is a third-person action shooter where the player controls a mech (a Tactical Surface Fighter), which can be customized. When going out for battles the player will encounter an alien threat known as the BETA (beings of extra terrestrial origin) and have to fight to wipe out their hives.
