Here’s a rundown on the game, via Tozai Games:
Minna de Spelunker, which was released on PS3 in 2009 and won the PS Store Special Award at the PlayStation Awards in the same year, has been fully remade with new game modes and a new look as the “Original Minna de Spelunker”. In addition to the package version and downloadable version, a special limited edition with special features will be released at the same time.
The original Minna de Spelunker is an action game in which the cave explorer “Spelunker”, who was said to be “the weakest in the history of games”, explores caves filled with mystery. In addition to the massive single-player gameplay, the game supports offline multiplayer for up to four players and online multiplayer for up to six players.
The game features a variety of game modes, including “Adventure Mode” to explore the mysterious cave, “Race with Everyone Mode” for multiplayer competition, “Championship Mode” for the toughest stages, and a new game mode called “Infinite Cave NEO” in which stages appear randomly and scroll downward forcibly. All game modes have been updated with new features. All game modes can be played in two graphic modes: newly created 3D graphics and nostalgic 8-bit dot graphics.
The original Minna de Minna de Spelunker is an action game in which the cave explorer “Spelunker”, who was said to be “the weakest in the history of video games”, explores caves filled with mystery. Spelunker aims to reach the deepest part of a vast cave with a total of 100 stages consisting of various caves such as abandoned mines, underground lakes, ancient ruins, and glaciers. The caves are full of dangers such as natural terrains, cave creatures, and nasty traps, as well as enemies and traps that appear to be traces of unknown civilizations in the later stages of the caves. Spelunkers will use items such as bombs, flashes, portable fans, and Spelunker’s own jumping techniques to break through these obstacles. Be careful though, Spelunkers are a bit weak! If he falls from a height or touches bat droppings, he will miss. The weakness of the spelunker, often derided as “frail,” adds a nice sense of tension and rhythm to the game, making it an interesting action game.
