Actor Chad Rook has revealed the premiere date of the live-action Resident Evil film by Constantin Film and Johannes Roberts.
As previously reported‘ the film is being handled by Constantin Film, and focused on an origin story adaptation with “faithful ties” to the series. Constantin and writer-director Johannes Roberts note the movie is focused on the events of the first two games.
“With this movie, I really wanted to go back to the original first two games and re-create the terrifying visceral experience I had when I first played them whilst at the same time telling a grounded human story about a small dying American town that feels both relatable and relevant to today’s audiences,” Roberts explained.
The premiere date was revealed by Chad Rook on Twitter, who is playing Richard Aiken. Sony Pictures’ Screen Gems is handling domestic distribution of the movie, while Constantin Film is handling German-speaking regions.
Resident Evil (2021) premieres September 3rd.
