Square Enix has announced Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis for Android and iOS.
When Ever Crisis and The First Soldier were trademarked [1, 2], many speculated if they could be related to Final Fantasy VII prequel Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-. This could not be further from the truth.
Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis is described as “a chapter-structured single player game covering the whole of the FFVII timeline – including the events of the original game and the FFVII compilation titles.” This includes Advent Children, Before Crisis, Crisis Core, and Dirge of Cerberus.
This may mean it will follow the events of Final Fantasy VII closer than Remake, also providing context for players who have not played the original. Certain games represented in this series are also likely to abandon their gameplay styles for the mobile RPG gameplay here.
The Square Enix website also mentions the game will feature “new story elements penned by FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE Story and Scenario writer Kazushige Nojima, surrounding the founding of SOLDIER.”
