Paramount Pictures has officially announced Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie.

The new live-action movie is a sequel to the 2020 Sonic the Hedgehog live-action film. Based on the teaser and a post-credit scene at the end of the first film, it seems likely Miles “Tails” Prower the fox will be appearing. A premiere date is set for April 8th, 2022. Recent voice actors and actresses for the games have announced being replaced; including Roger Craig Smith announced would no longer voicing Sonic the Hedgehog, after voicing the character for ten years. While there have been changes, Mike Pollock as confirmed he will continue to play Dr. Eggman in the games.

While Sonic was voiced by Ben Schwartz, Colleen O’Shaughnessey voiced Tails in the aforementioned cameo. Despite her announcement of no longer playing the character, she may reprise the role for the film. Some have also theorized Schwartz will play Sonic in the games from now, but no such evidence has surfaced.
