Arc System Works have revealed the gameplay trailer for Anji Mito in their upcoming fighting game Guilty Gear -Strive-.
The character was briefly teased at the end of the Giovanna trailer, stating the next trailer would be revealed January 1st, 2021. According to the official Japanese website (translation: DeepL, adjusted), Anji is a graceful martial artist- despite being hot-headed and acting on intuition rather than logic.
While taking most for fools (but “this is his own charm”), he does not have a strong sense of justice. Even so, he will oppose deception and lies. He is also one of the few survivors of Japan, which fell in 2074. Based on the lore of prior games in the series, this could mean Anji has far more to his backstory.
The character’s fighting style is described as balanced and easy to use. In the trailer, we see his attacks are a slow but deliberate assault with his fans and feet.
You can find the trailer below.
The next and final main roster character will be revealed in February.
Guilty Gear -Strive- launches April 9th, 2021 on Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
