Casey Hudson and Mark Darrah Resign from BioWare

We’ve learned both Casey Hudson and Mark Darrah have resigned from BioWare.

While Casey Hudson was the general manager of BioWare proper, Mark Darrah was the executive producer on the Dragon Age series. BioWare senior director of dev operations Gary McKay will step in as the interim general manager, while Christian Dailey will take on being executive producer for the Dragon Age series.

“2020 has been a year that forced all of us to re-imagine how we think about work and life,” Hudson said in a statement on BioWare’s site. “For me, it’s been the realization that I still have tremendous energy to create, but also that I need to try something different. I’m not sure exactly what that is yet, but I know that I want to start by rediscovering my creative passion through more personal work.”

Darrah also posted a statement on BioWare’s Site, adding, “I don’t know what’s next for me, but I’m excited to find out. Just as I’m excited to find out what Dragon Age now becomes.”

Any projects currently in development at BioWare remain unaffected and will continue, like the new Dragon Age game, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, and the new Mass Effect game. Hudson also teased “some things not yet announced” as well.
