Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny

NIS America (NISA) have released a new story trailer and announced a contest for strategy JRPG Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny.

The Netherworlds across the multiverse are being destroyed by the God of Destruction; a being that appears without rhyme or reason and devastates all in its wake. Yet, a young zombie boy called Zed waltzes into the Darkest Assembly, and claims to have defeated it. While Overlord Ivar doubts his capabilities, the secret may lie in Super Reincarnation; and what you do to help him!

Alongside numerous returning elements (such as item worlds, the Dark Assembly, Squads, the Cheat Shop and more), players can now perform team attacks with up to six characters, raise characters to level 99,999,999 (with max HP and damage reaching over 99 quadrillion). The game is also fully 3D during battles.

There is also Demonic Intelligence, Karma, and the Juice Bar to help raise stats. To make things quicker for players, Disgaea 6 introduces increased speed modes, auto-battle, and the ability to quickly retry levels.

As stated in the press release (via email) the new Story trailer reveals the English dub cast. These include Brandon Winkler (Zed), Jason Marnocha (Cerberus), Kelly Baskin (Melodia), and Sunwon Cho (Misedor).

You can find the rundown on them (via emailed press release) and the new story trailer below.

Brandon Winckler as Zed, a young zombie who utilizes a powerful spell called “Super Reincarnation” that allows the user to relive their life over again until their wish has been seen through.

Jason Marnocha as Cerberus, a highly intelligent zombie dog that supports Zed on his journey and the one that taught him Super Reincarnation.

Kelly Baskin as Melodia, who is known to sing quite often. She relies on the power of love, and seeks a prince who can lead her to a happy ending.

Sungwon Cho as Misedor, King of the Human World. As the wealthiest person in the land, he believes anything can be accomplished through the power of money.

In addition, NISA is holding a Names of the Netherworld contest. Those who enter the contest may choose whether their name is applied to a humanoid male, humanoid female, monster male, or monster female. Four winners will then have their name as a random option in the Character Creation Menu, and win a copy of the Unrelenting Edition of the game on Nintendo Switch.

The Unrelenting Edition features the game, a soundtrack digital download code, a mini art book, and reversible coversheet. The contest runs until December 4th at 11:59 p.m. PT.

You can find the full rundown (via the official website) below.

Zed is a boastful zombie who wallows on the lowest rung on the Netherworld ladder alongside his sister Bieko. When a God of Destruction threatens their way of (un)Iife, Zed must harness his unique ability of Super Reincarnation to stand against the approaching menace. Along the way, he will unite with twisted and colorful denizens of the Netherworld, face challenges around and within, and see if even an undying hooligan like himself can defy the odds!
