Watch Dogs: Legion

Developer Ubisoft Montreal have detailed the post-launch, season pass, and next-gen content and features for Watch Dogs: Legion.

The game launches October 29th for Windows PC (via the Epic Games Store, and UPlay), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and Holiday 2020 for PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.

As previously reported, Aiden Pearce from the first Watch Dogs game will be returning to the game. He has his own story arc, and will be available through the game’s season pass post-launch.

Addition post-launch content will also include an online 4-player co-op mode with exclusive missions, dynamic events, four-player Tactical Ops, the Spider-Bot Arena 8-player PvP mode, the Invasion game mode from previous games.

This all comes via a free update December 3rd. More PvP modes will also come in future updates. Other free content coming in future updates includes new characters with new abilities, new missions, and New Game Plus.

The Season Pass content will include the aforementioned Aiden Pearce and Watch Dogs: Legion Bloodline content, along with a playable Wrench from Watch Dogs 2. The two other “hero characters” coming to the game include Mina (who has mind-control powers), and Darcy (a member of the Assassin’s Brotherhood from Assassin’s Creed).

Other Season Pass content includes three Dedsec stories, new game modes, the Complete Edition content (“On supported platforms”), the Dedsec Car Skin, and more. You can find the post-launch and season pass content trailer below.

In addition, during a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything), Live Producer Lathieeshe Thillainathan conformed that the game will add cross play as an update during “year 1,” that microtransactions would be “primary focused” on cosmetics, and that the Season Pass would launch in 2021.

Thillainathan also revealed the game would support Ray tracing, 4k, but 30fps on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The PC version of the game will also have an Ironman mode, where permadeath for characters cannot be turned off. Hero Characters from the Season Pass will also be usable online.

You can find an abridged rundown (via the official website) below.

WELCOME TO THE RESISTANCE
BUILD A RESISTANCE AND FIGHT BACK.

Mass surveillance, private militaries controlling the streets, organised crime… Enough! It’s time to end oppression. Recruit a well-rounded resistance to overthrow the opportunists ruining this once-great city. The fate of London lies with you.

PLAY AS ANYONE
ANYONE CAN BE YOUR WEAPON

Every Londoner has a reason to fight back. Explore the open world to find your next recruit. Each character is fully playable, has their own backstory, personality, and skill set — all of which comes into play as you personalise your team and choose the right operatives to best confront the challenges ahead.

TAKE BACK LONDON
SHOW THE CITY WHAT YOU’VE GOT.

Explore a massive urban open world and visit London’s many famous landmarks – including Big Ben, Tower Bridge, Camden, Piccadilly Circus or Whitechapel.

PLAY YOUR WAY
OR EXPERIMENT WITH PLAYSTYLES.

Tackle missions choosing from a wide range of weapons, a brand-new melee system or stealth abilities. The way you approach combat has real consequences. If you use non-lethal force, the enemy will attempt to subdue and arrest you. If you shoot to kill, you risk having your characters permanently killed.

GET THE GANG TOGETHER
BRING YOUR FRIENDS INTO THE MESS.

Giving London back to the people doesn’t have to be some heroic solo jaunt, ya know. Bring the fight online to join forces with up to three friends as you take on entirely new co-op missions and challenging end-game content.
