Iconic gamemaker Atari has announced a new mini-gaming console that honors their roots in the industry.
The company has announced (via Shacknews) the Mini Pong Jr., a throwback handheld that fully recreates the original Pong experience, but in a small and portable form.
Players can go head to head on the local device, or you can play solo with AI with various levels of AI settings. The Mini Pong Jr. is made in collaboration with UNIS and frequent mini-console maker Arcade1Up.
“Available soon online, the Atari Mini PONG Jr. is the perfect gift for Atari fans and collectors interested in experiencing the simple-yet-challenging gameplay of PONG in a tangible, more immersive way.” said Fred Chesnais, CEO of Atari.
Here’s a new teaser video for the mini-console:
The Atari Mini Pong Jr. will get a full reveal tomorrow at the virtual UNIS Showcase 2020 event, at 11:30 AM Pacific / 2:30 PM Eastern. A release is set for sometime this holiday.
